Take a Break this Weekend and Enjoy a Hearty Summer Brunch

On a rainy dreary day things seems to slow down a little. It’s easy to peer out the window, be captivated by the drizzling rain and daydream. After a long hot summer, it’s nice to have the cool wet weather. From seeing all the local fruit stands and farmers markets this time of year it’s easy to daydream about food. What to make for dinner with that fresh garden squash or the perfect dessert for those recently harvested raspberries. It can be overwhelming at times trying to enjoy and use the summer’s full bounty before it’s too cold outside and leaves us anxiously awaiting the spring of next year.

Weekend forecasts are showing thunderstorms through Saturday. It’s a great time to pull out the canner and mason jars and preserve the harvest to enjoy local peaches and pickled cucumbers in the coming months. Between batches, come treat yourself to some local flair prepared by our chefs especially for you. A house favorite is this Sautéed House Smoked Salmon Hash. Only the best salmon with potatoes, onions, green pepper, greens and fresh summer corn compliment each other for a wonderful and filling dish. A Morning For Sweet Delights

You’ve worked hard this week, come treat yourself to a Saturday morning breakfast of sweet treats at Communal. This giant orange roll is made from scratch each Saturday and is finished off with thick cream cheese frosting and a sprinkling of sugar. The fruit, greek yogurt and granola parfait features local in-season berries, only the best yogurt and our house-made granola for the perfect combination of sweet, tart, crunchy and savory. Saturday Happenings!

Of course our happenings begin with the lovely and lively brunch crowd at Communal.  From there the options are many.  We’d just like to share a few items that may be of interest to you.

If you can make it out to Christiansen Family Farm & Hog Heaven for their Farm Day, we know you will have a fun and informative time.

Also, remember today is a volunteer day at La Nay Ferme so stop in to lend a hand in the soil or just find out what their CSA is all about.

Back to the important subject of what’s for brunch today:

Christine, Communal, Brunch!

You had me at “Let’s do Brunch.”

While Valentine’s Day isn’t until Tuesday, there is absolutely no reason you can’t show some affection to your loved ones by suggesting brunch at Communal today! They’ll love you for it.
