What is it they say about change. We are embracing this inevitable beast and turning its power loose on our daily desire to eat something delicious. What a joy it is to see something new on a plate. To watch it make its journey to someone who it tasting it for the first time. We thank you in advance for being a part of this constant evolution and look forward to the continued surprises that lie ahead.

  • There’s nothing wrong with keeping a good thing though. I recently brought a friend to the restaurant as I had raved to her about the chocolate cake. Imagine my disappointment when our waitress explained that it was no longer on the menu, even though many, many people request it. I’m all for new things, but a few solid regular items provide security to those of us less adventurous.

    With such a small menu as ours even keeping a few regular menu items means not getting the chance to try many new things. Take for example the chocolate cake. It is delicious, true, but with only three dessert choices if we were to always keep it on the menu that wouldn’t leave room for any other chocolate desserts. That means of all of the 1000’s of possibly amazing chocolate desserts out there we will never get to experience them because we like the chocolate cake and want to be able to count on it. It is not to say that I don’t see your point, I do and it is well taken. What you can always count on is us being here making incredible food and always doing our best to make sure everything we serve is exciting and true to our goals of local, seasonal and sustainable. Thank you for your input.

  • I loved the chocolate cake, and I would be sad to see it go too. I would also be stoked to see what new concoctions you mad scientists are working on in the lab.

    My biggest problem with P712 is that you aren’t here in Chapel Hill! I’m excited to see, and eat, what’s on the menu next time I’m in town.

  • Two bad experiences, first the manager kept us waiting for one hour and forty fives minutes, just because it is against their “policy” to gather tables in the middle of the restaurant. We were in 8 guests and waited and waited, not even an appetizer was served, with several empty tables. besides the manager was a Jerk, mistreating us more than once, For sure we left and went to Macarroni’s Grill for a delightful dinner. Second time when I try to called to order a Take Out the answer was “We don’t do Take Out, you can come, order and take it home”
    You can have the best food on earth, the best desert, BUT with this kind of customer service you are doomed to failure, sooner than later.

    It is regretful that you did not have the experience you had hoped for while here. We all work very hard to make sure that everyone gets a fair shake at having a good time. We are sorry that you felt mistreated. I happen to know the manager very well and can safely say he is a nice guy. I know sometimes our “policies” can seem strange but as Owners and Mangers it is up to us to provide an environment that ensures the most people have a great time. While it may seem like not putting tables together in the middle of the room or not always being able to do take-out are inconveniences, those decisions are firmly rooted in experience and knowledge of what makes the night run smoothly. We do appreciate your acknowledgment that we have the best food on earth, we certainly feel the same. We hope your future experiences will be what you are looking for.
