A Fond Farewell!

Won’t you please join us in wishing Ethan Kawasaki the best of luck in his new role with our friend Mary Craft and her team at Culinary Crafts?  Ethan’s talents, spirit and smile will be greatly missed at Communal and throughout the Heirloom Restaurant Group.

We are not going to say goodbye as we expect to see Ethan and Sarah often.  We will however, enjoy these photo memories of our time with Ethan at Pizzeria and Communal.  From all of us, farewell!

Small Business Saturday Brunch!

As we’ve retired the Thanksgiving feast and are looking to the giving season, please join us in support of the Gift Shift Campaign presented by Local First Utah.  We think it’s a marvelous idea to approach the shift to local in small increments (10% per year) as Local First suggests.  Please take a moment to visit their site, view the program and download the coupon before doing your shopping.  And, please consider referring the local businesses you frequent to the Local First Utah program.  Spread the love!

After you’ve done all that, you’ll be hungry and should carbo load before your gift search begins in earnest.  We would be happy to help you out!

Brunch features:

  • buttermilk pancakes, allred orchard apple butter, canadian bacon 10
  • eggs benedict, house made crumpets, poached eggs, canadian bacon 10
  • christiansen farms pork chile verde huevos rancheros, organic quinoa, black beans, clifford farm eggs 10

Damien is working his pastry magic but you’ll have to come see the results for yourself!  Take a moment to enhance the Communal vibe today and join us for brunch!

New Hours at Communal!

What an outstanding brunch crowd we had today at communal! Those enjoying birthday parties and family reunions joined our regulars for a great November to Remember Brunch.

Speaking of brunch, we have an important announcement to make: effective immediately, Communal will no longer be open for breakfast hours during the week (Tuesday-Friday). Even so, it’s important that you know that Saturday brunch is still on!

And if today’s crowd is any indication, securing your reservation is more important than ever so you are sure to get your weekly morning Communal fix. Every Saturday from 9-2, you can enjoy selections from a delicious seasonal brunch menu that includes many favorites from the breakfast menu such as oatmeal, French toast, our signature baked egg, biscuits & gravy, and of course Communal bacon.

Be sure to reserve your spot for Saturday brunch.  We look forward to seeing you next Saturday!

A November Brunch To Remember!

We’ve been loving Ethan’s take on featured brunch “sides”.  Our Executive Chef will be on hand Saturday putting his personal touch on fritters and maybe catching you by surprise pairing banana bread and fleur de sel (french for “Flower of Salt”, a hand-harvested sea salt with greater mineral complexity and texture).  And his anson mill grits are the perfect side for local, fresh eggs.

Kickoff your holiday season right by doing brunch with us — and Ethan.

  • breakfast sandwich: clifford farm bown sugar cured ham and fried egg, rockhill creamery gouda, housebaked brioche bun 8
    • french fries or salad ~ add 2
  • oatmeal, pecan waffle ~ bananas, whipped cream 8
  • pleasant creek ranch skirt steak~ chili lime vinagrette 17
  • poached clifford farm eggs, soft anson mill grits, bacon lardons, chanterelles and sauted spinach 12

  • apple fritters 4
  • banana bread, butter, fleur de sel 3.5
  • fries with salt 5

And, of course, you can also order from our everyday breakfast menu.
